The above application was considered by the Development and Regulation Committee on 22 July 2025. The Committee resolved to grant consent.

The Chair, Michael Bamford who represented the village at this meeting, made these comments - 

"Regrettably the Brockley Wood Gravel pit and associated industrial waste processing plant application was granted by Suffolk County Council today, despite some very cogent opposition from some Councillors. Now we have to try to hold the operators to their various pledges of good practice and policing their transport strategy."

 

RE-CONSULTATION OF REGULATION 25 PLANNING APPLICATION - UPDATE 8TH MAY 2025

Reason: Additional information has been provided in response to the County Council’s Regulation 25 request dated 2 May 2025. This includes information on Heritage, Landscape, Air Quality, Noise, Traffic and Transport, Access Design, Location of processing plant and supporting plans and drawings.

Re-consultation of Regulation 25 Application - UPDATE 24th April 2025

Brockley Wood planning application was due to be heard this morning (24th April 2025) by SCC at their Development and Regulation Committee meeting but will now not be determined at that meeting.  

This is due to the fact that Babergh District Council has yesterday (23 April 2025) confirmed the designation of the Conservation Area:
